《学术英语阅读》课程简介 


《学术英语阅读》是全校性公共基础课《大学英语》的后续课程,以掌握学术英语阅读能力为主要教学目标,旨在培养学生用英语获取信息、直接使用英语从事科研的能力。


《学术英语阅读》针对已达到大学英语基础阶段教学要求的学生而设计。通过本课程的学习,学生将能具备以下的学术英语素养:在掌握阅读学术文本是所需的阅读策略的基础上,识别较复杂文章的结构,区分文章的事实和观点,辨别较隐晦的作者立场与观点,判断信息来源的可信度等;能读懂篇幅较长、内容较复杂的一般通识学术文章,并能进行较深入的批判性思考


课程阅读内容选材广泛,涉及理科、工科和商科,由9个单元构成,每个单元包含若干微视频和配套练习,学习掌握一项学术英语核心阅读策略,它们分别是:


  1. 理解学术定义;
  2. 利用语境线索推断词义;
  3. 区分学术文本中的中心思想与细节;
  4. 区分事实与观点;
  5. 读懂学术文本中的图表;
  6. 理解学术概述;
  7. 掌握阅读修正策略;  
  8. 理解学术篇章的文本结构;
  9. 理解学术篇章中各部分意思的衔接 。



《学术英语阅读》课程依据《大学英语教学指南》的要求建设,内容遵循两性一度金课建设标准,学术性强、实用性高;密切结合学术语境,以培养学生的思辨能力,提高课程挑战度,满足个性化学习需求。


本课程与2022年获得广东省省级一流在线课程的认定。
