课程简介

      课程以最新版《大学英语教学指南》为指导,强调人文性和工具性相结合。课程从北京大学出版社的《博雅英语阅读》第一册和第二册教材中精选12篇文章,涉及“建筑与艺术”、“历史与文明”、“经济与社会”、“哲学与人生”、“人与自然”、“科技与教育”六个主题,旨在通过选文促进学生对不同文化的理解,加强对中外文化异同的认识,以读带写,以输入带动输出,将中外文化相关联、相比较,培养学生对中国文化的理解,提升文化自信;给予学生思想上的引领,情感、人格、审美等方面的熏陶,培养学生的思辨能力,发掘学生作为语言学习主体的自主学习能力。

       该课程目标是在高中英语教学的基础上进一步提高学生的读、译能力。具体来说,希望以篇幅长度在1000字左右的线上阅读体验,使得学习者的词汇量大幅度增加,掌握一些词汇积累扩展方法;能够了解、熟悉并运用词汇、语法及篇章结构等知识和一些阅读策略,较好地理解有关通识话题的语言难度属于中上的文章,准确地掌握主旨大意,理解段落之间的逻辑关系、篇章结构和隐含意义;能借助词典等工具翻译体裁较为正式的英文文本,利用课程讲解的翻译技巧,做到中文译文达意,通顺,为今后进行学术英语阅读及交流奠定扎实的基础。

     《英语阅读》课程分为12个单元,每个单元下设7个模块,包括课文阅读、背景探寻、语篇分析、阅读技巧、长句解析、词汇积累、中国故事。各个单元之间相对独立,方便大家随时、随地自主选择性学习。
